Don Ewoldt is Vice President of the Wetlands Banking Division of the Lake Erie Land Company in Chesterton, Indiana. Mr. Ewoldt is responsible for all facets of the wetland banking business. Mr. Ewoldt managed the development of the 223 acre Lake Station Mitigation Bank, the first wetland bank in Indiana and also the first for the USACOE's Detroit District.

Sheri Lewin is President of Environmental Resource Marketing, a marketing and management firm providing research and planning services to wetland mitigation and conservation banks. Ms Lewin has eleven years experience in providing services related to the marketing and transfer of mitigation and conservation bank credits. Environmental Resource Marketing also offers market research services and educational workshops on a variety of topics related to wetland mitigation banking and conservation banking.

A native Floridian with a Bachelors Degree and Master of Arts Degree in Mass Communications, Ms. Lewin has served on the NMBA Board since 2002.

David Urban has worked in the wetland mitigation field for over 17 years as an Army Corps regulator, an engineer and as a wetland banker. He has been involved in the design, permitting and operation of over 12 mitigation banks in four different Corps of Engineers Districts, as well as numerous other offsite and offsite mitigation projects.

Craig Denisoff is a founding partner of Environmental Business Partners in Davis, California, where he is responsible for Government Affairs and New Project Development. Mr. Denisoff has served on the Association board since 1999 in the position of Vice President and prior to that as Co-Chair of Government Affairs. Mr. Denisoff has extensive experience with state and federal legislative matters and regulatory agencies.

George A. Howard is a co-founder and Executive Vice President of Restoration Systems, LLC with offices in Raleigh, N.C. and Greensboro, N.C. Mr. Howard gained his interest in mitigation banking as staff in the in United States Senate from 1990 to 1996, where he was deeply involved with Clean Water Act and Section 404 wetland issues, the Endangered Species Act, and other environmental public policy.

Realizing the potential of mitigation, Mr. Howard returned home in 1996 to help sponsor North Carolina’s first successful large-scale mitigation bank -- the 660 acre Cape Fear Regional Mitigation Bank-- now in its 11th year of ecological success. His determination to make North Carolina a leader in private-sector mitigation led George to found Restoration Systems, L.L.C. with John Preyer in 1998.

Restoration Systems has since become recognized as a leading environmental restoration and mitigation company with 19 employees and 27 working mitigation sites in North Carolina, South Carolina and Maryland, totaling more than 5,000 acres of wetlands, and 25 miles of creeks, streams and rivers. Mr. Howard has located, acquired and implemented a number of cutting edge mitigation projects for RS, including the first large-scale dam removals performed as compensatory mitigation (Carbonton Dam & Lowell Mill Dam in North Carolina).

Mr. Howard was raised in rural Guilford County, North Carolina and earned a Political Science degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He has testified to the U.S. Congress in support of the industry, speaks and writes frequently as a proponent of private sector mitigation delivery systems, and contributes regularly to regional and national conferences. He is a member of the Triangle Land Conservancy’s Communications Committee, Wake County Co-Chair for the Land for Tomorrow Coalition, and a 2006 appointee to the North Carolina Land and Water Conservation Study Commission by Governor Easley.

Richard Mogensen has over twenty years experience in the environmental consulting industry with particular expertise in wetlands and wetlands mitigation. Recently, Mr. Mogensen became Director of the MId-Atlantic Region for the EarthMark Companies, LLC. In this capacity he is managing a new office in North Carolina to provide wetland and stream mitigation primarily for the transportation industry.

Prior to joining TWG, Stephen spent 20 years with FPL Group, (“FPL”) where he permitted and operated their 13,455 acre Everglades Mitigation Bank (“EMB”) the second largest mitigation bank in the U. S. The EMB which is home to 39 threatened, listed, or endangered species, was the 2001 winner of the prestigious EEI National Land Management Award. Stephen has previously held the position of Vice President of the Association in addition to having served as the Secretary and Director.

Cynthia Robinson founded Robinsong Ecological Resources in 1990; she opened Alabama’s first Wetlands Mitigation Bank in 1998 and sold all 430 credits by 2005. Also in 2005 Robinsong provided the first priority one stream restoration in Alabama/Tennessee using Rosgen’s Natural Channel Design Techniques. Robinsong’s staff of seven includes ecologist, engineers, and an environmental policy lawyer to create markets not only in wetland restoration but stream restoration, water quality trading and carbon credits. Currently Robinsong is developing new mitigation and conservation banks in the Wheeler, Coosa and Cahaba watersheds in Alabama as well as mitigation banks in eastern Tennessee and northern Mississippi.

Ren L. Martyn is the president of Finger Rock Preserve, LLC., a 620 acre mitigation bank in northwest Colorado. Having a degree in environmental science and being a land developer, Mr. Martyn saw the long over due need for a viable wetland mitigation solution to serve the Vail and Steamboat Springs watersheds. Mr. Martyn is involved in all facets of the banking business but especially enjoys his involvement in policy and legislative matters.
